ArmInfo. Azerbaijani officer-murderer, given a life sentence, intends
to make a cassation appeal.
As APA reports with reference to the Azerbaijani College of
Advocates, a cassation appeal will be made to the decision of the
Budapest municipal Court of Appeal about keeping the sentence on life
imprisonment of AR Army officer Ramil Safarov in force. The term of
appeal is not specified as yet.
To recall, Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov killed a sleepy Armenian
officer Gourgen Margaryan by axe on February 19, 2004. On April 13,
2006, R. Safarov was sentenced to life imprisonment by Budapest court
without a right to pardon during 30 years. The Budapest municipal
Court of Appeal left the sentence in force by decision from February
22, 2007.
