YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, NOYAN TAPAN. It is already the fifth day
unauthorized mass meetings, sit-down strike and marches have been
organized on the Freedom square of Yerevan, which is a violation of
the demands of the RA Law on "Holding of meetings, rallies, marches
and demonstrations". This is said in the February 25 statement of
the municipality of Yerevan.
It is mentioned that mass public events implemented without permission
essentially damage the normal life of the city, cause traffic jams
and make the central streets, squares and crossroads impassable,
create complexes and obstacles for a free displacing of citizens,
and for a safe and regular traffic of transport.
In addition to this, according to the municipality, an anti-hygienic
amd anti-sanitary state has been created in the places, where the
above-mentioned events are held. In the night hours the silence rules
defined by the legislation are not preserved either on the Freedom
square, which breakes the peace and rest of the citizens living in
the neighbouring buildings, giving rise to a fair dissatisfaction
among the population.
Considering the created situation as inadmissible, the municipality
of Yerevan calls the organizers and participants of the mass events
being held in the capital to stop the unauthorized mass meetings and
restore the normal rhythm of the life of the capital.
