VARDAN OSKANIAN RECEIVES CHAIRMAN OF CE MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE JAN KUBIS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, NOYAN TAPAN. During the February 25 meeting of
RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian with the delegation led by Jan
Kubis, the Chairman of the Council of Europe Ministerial Committee,
the Slovakian Foreign Minister, the sides touched upon the presidential
elections held in Armenia. Noyan Tapan was informed about it by the
RA Foreign Ministry Press and Information Department.
J. Kubis said that the time of his visit had not been chosen
accidentally, he wished to visit Armenia a few days after the elections
to study the situation on the spot and to form an impression about
it. At the guest's request V. Oskanian presented the post-electoral
developments in Armenia, the results of the appeal and recounting
process.
Then the sides touched upon the bilateral relations. Both sides
mentioned the great potential of development of economic relations and
attached importance to urgent expansion of the legal-contractual field.
The Armenia-EU relations and the process of implementation of the
European Neighborhood Policy Actions Plan was also discussed at
the meeting.
V. Oskanian presented RA's approaches on settlement of Armenian-Turkish
relations, as well as the process and prospects of the Nagorno Karabakh
settlement. The developments over Kosovo were also touched upon.
