RA OMBUDSPERSON APPLIES TO CHIEF OF RA POLICE TO CHECK INFORMATION ON CLOSING L. TER-PETROSIAN'S PREELECTION HEADQUARTERS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, NOYAN TAPAN. On February 25, at about 16:00,
a group of policemen visited Levon Ter-Petrosian's preelection
headquarters in Yerevan, Yekmalian 16, and presented an oral demand to
close the office. The representative of the candidate's preelection
headquarters reported this in his application addressed to the RA
Ombudsperson. According to the report provided to Noyan Tapan by
the Ombudsperson's Information and Public Relations Department,
the applicant also mentioned that L. Ter-Petrosian's preelection
headquarters and sub-headquarters have been forcibly closed for
already several days throughout the whole country, in particular,
in Berd (Tavush region), in Vardenis (Gegharkunik region), in Yerevan.
Ombudsperson Armen Haroutiunian applied to Hayk Haroutiunian, the
Chief of the RA Police, proposing him checking the information of
the application and giving explanations in connection with it.
