Yerevan /Mediamax/. Elected Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian,
expressing today gratitude to his supporters, also thanked all those,
who voted for the other candidates.
Mediamax reports that Serzh Sarkisian said this during today's rally
at the Republic Square.
"We respect the point of view of our citizens and do not divide
the society into "our people" and "others", or, how certain
trouble-democrats say, "our people and the dregs of the nation".
Fascism and revanchism are alien to us", Serzh Sarkisian stated.
"I urge you not to fill with spite, since there, at the other square,
our sisters are brothers are. I am sure that they were brought to the
square by the desire to have better Armenia; however, unfortunately,
they are already not allowed to see that they have become a tool of
revengeful thoughts of certain people. I know that we are embarrassed
these days, following the events. I know how many people there are
today, ready to enter the streets and defend their votes. I know it
all well. But I ask you to deter your emotions: if you have anything
to say, I ask you, let those be urges to see the reality, if you want
to do something, let those be steps of kindness and tolerance. I ask
you to always and constantly remember that our sisters and brothers
are at the other square", Serzh Sarkisian.
