CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEE OF MINISTERS OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE STATED THAT THE ARMENIAN AUTHORITIES "SHOW RESTRAINT"

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the
Council of Europe, Foreign Minister of Slovakia Jan Kubis stated in
Yerevan today that in the post-election period the Armenian authorities
"show restraint and act with responsibility".
Mediamax reports that, speaking at the joint news conference with the
Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian today, Jan Kubis expressed
hope that all the participants of the political processes in Armenia
will refrain from violence and confrontation.
Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe
expressed hope that the Armenian authorities will give a timely
reaction to the criticism and the remarks of the international
observers. In particular, he welcomed the recount of votes in a number
of polling stations.
