ArmInfo. We must fight with the juridical incompetence of some state
officials and deputies, Prime Minister of Armenia, the leader of
Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan said in the parliament today when
asked by the opposition deputy Armen Martirossyan how he understood
the principle "everybody is equal before the law."
He said that it made no difference who owned illegal arms - a
politician, a deputy or a member of Yerkrapah Volunteers Union. "We
must exclude the presence of illegal arms in Armenia," Sargsyan
said. He said that he did not know the details of the reported attack
on a number of deputies on the day of the presidential election.
Martirossyan said that he and his colleagues Vardan Khachatryan and
Zaruhi Postanjyan were attacked. Sargsyan promised that he would ask
the police to speed up their investigation of that case.
When Martirossyan asked why some political figures were arrested
exactly after the presidential election, Sargsyan said that he did
not consider Gagik Jangiryan as political figure but if Martirossyan
did he, as a young political figure, was free to take encouragement
from that example.
