MEETING OF NKR PRESIDENT WITH OSCE CHAIRMAN-IN-OFFICE TAKES PLACE IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 27, NOYAN TAPAN. The meeting of Bako Sahakian, the
President of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh and Ilkka Kanerva, the
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland and the OSCE Chairman-in-office
took place in Yerevan on February 26. A wide range of issues concerning
the regulation process of the Karabakh conflict was discussed during
the meeting.
The interlocutors stressed that the regulation of the problem through a
peaceful way has no alternative. In this respect, the sides mentioned
that bellicose statements have a negative influence on the peaceful
process.
Bako Sahakian, introducing the position of the official Stepanakert,
mentioned that it is necessary to restore the status of the Republic
of Nagorno Karabakh as a full part of the negotiation process.
According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the Main
Information Department of the Staff of the NKR President, Georgi
Petrosian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nagorno
Karabakh, Goran Lennmarker, the Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary
Assembly, and Anjey Kaspshik, the personal representative of the OSCE
Chairman-in-office, took part in the meeting.
