The "Morelia-Linares-2008" Super Tournament resumed in the Spanish
city Linares. Armenian GM Levon Aronian beat Veselin Topalov of
Bulgaria thus taking a revenge on his contender.
To remind, Aronian had lost to the Bulgarian GM n the first round.
Viswanathan Anand of India, the world champion, and the leader after
the Mexican half of the tournament, won, increasing his lead to a
full point over the field. Anand beat Alexei Shirov of Spain. Magnus
Carlsen of Norway staged a miraculous comeback against Vassily Ivanchuk
of Ukraine.
Currently, Viswanathan Anand heads the fixture table with 5.5 points,
followed by Levon Aronian and Magnus Carlsen having 4.5 points
each. Topalov and Shirov have gained 4 points each.
