SQUARE OF FREEDOM: WHAT THE GOVERNMENT OF ARMENIA DOES NOT WANT TO SEE

The Armenian official propaganda has the following point of view on
the events taking place at the Square of Freedom: Levon Ter-Petrosyan
and his team are craving for revenge, and the people gathered at
the Square of Freedom are misled. Appealing to these misled people,
Robert Kocharyan says "it is not your game". Hence, he urges to leave
the square not to become a toy in the hands of others.
Here is one of the big shortcomings of the government propaganda. The
point is that either they did not understand or for them the most
undesirable thing was that the people, tens of thousands of people
have not gathered at the Square of Freedom for Levon. People have
gathered to regain their dignity hurt for so many years, to protect
their right, to overcome humiliation. And perhaps most importantly,
to repent for conformism, indifference toward the crimes committed
for so many years. It is not accidental that the Square of Freedom is
compared to a purgatory. Perhaps this is the most undesirable thing
for the government: the gradual liberation of the citizen of Armenia
from slavishness, fear, imposed immorality.
Someone else could have been in the place of Levon Ter-Petrosyan at the
Square of Freedom, anyone who would realize the problem and bring it
up. It is not accidental that the first president does not hesitate
to point to immorality with which the society is overwhelmed, and
does not hesitate to tell it directly to people. Meanwhile, people
can understand. They have always understood everything perfectly,
simply now it is already becoming a quality. Ter-Petrosyan was right
when he said the result of the movement of the past few years was
the establishment of a new quality - the civil consciousness of the
society. The indicator is the zeroes which were put down beside the
name of the pet political traders of the government of Armenia in the
presidential election. The indicator of this is the adolescents joining
gangs in the streets who went to the Square of Freedom, listened to
the speeches, and changed as humans. The indicator is that a black
and white situation has occurred in the positive sense of the word,
when the appeals for mediation, dialogue and other are something like
pimping. Because there is no struggle of poles, there is a society and
people on the one hand, and the government group with its well-known
components on the other hand. Any society should be able to create a
black and white situation from time to time to avoid stagnation and
demoralization. This movement gave the society such a chance. And
many more things which will become known in the course of time.
