ARTHUR BAGHDASARIAN RECEIVED PROPOSAL TO TAKE UP POST OF SECRETARY OF RA SECURITY COUNCIL

YEREVAN, 29.02.08. DE FACTO. Armenian Orinats Yerkir opposition
party leader Arthur Baghdasarian signed an agreement on political
cooperation with Armenia's ruling coalition, Novosti-Armenia reports
quoting OY Party Spokeswoman Susan Abrahamian.
"Serge Sargsian advanced a proposal on joining a coalition agreement,
and we met him half-way. Within the frames of the agreement
Baghdasarian was offered the post of Secretary of Armenia's Security
Council, and he has received it", Abrahamian said.
Currently the head of RA President's administration Armen Gevorgian
is the Secretary of the Security Council.
RA PM Serge Sargsian, who had been recognized as the winner of
the presidential elections held February 19, in the course of a
meeting on February 26 urged opposition forces to cooperate with the
authorities. A number of political forces have already responded to
Sargsian's call.
At the presidential elections held on February 19 Arthur Baghdasarian,
the head of the Orinats Yerkir parliamentary faction, ex speaker
of RA Parliament, occupied the third place, receiving 17,7% of the
electors' votes.
