Azerbaijan President names regions subject to release from occupation

    [ 12 Jan 2008 14:08 ]

Armenia's unconstructive position and the world community's
indifference have made settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict
impossible, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev told a government
    meeting.

He added that the world acknowledges Azerbaijan's right stance and
supports territorial integrity in bilateral meetings and documents.
`However, the support doesn't yield real results,' he added saying
the year of 2008 will be a decisive time.
`We will this year know where we are, or whether it is possible to
solve the conflict peacefully. We will pass decision after that,' he
    noted.
According to the President, Azerbaijan's territorial integrity has
never been and will never be subject to discussion and independence
of Nagorno Karabakh was not and is not a subject matter for any
    discussion.
He added that Armenian leadership issues unserious and false
information intended to the domestic audience.
`The essence of negotiations is to achieve release of the occupied
lands and return of Azerbaijani citizens to the liberated areas,
    including Nagorno Karabakh.
Aghdam, Fuzuli, Zangilan, Jabrail, Gubadli, Kelbejer and Lachin have
to be vacated. I especially emphasize names of all the regions so
that Armenia refrains from making false statements. The essence of
the negotiations is that Armenian invading troops have to be
withdrawn from these lands, Azerbaijani internally displaced people
have to be returned to these lands, including Nagorno Karabakh and
Shusha. That is what the reality is,' he added.
He added that Armenia is a mono-state under anti-democratic military
regime which expelled other nations and criminal gangsters
established military criminal regime in Nagorno Karabakh.
`This region is not subject to any international monitoring, nobody
knows what happens there, which weapons and terrorists are there and
what kinds of narcotics are cultivated there. This is a black stain
    in Europe,' he added.
He noted that Armenia has been uninvolved in all the regional
projects and this will continue until Azerbaijan's occupied lands are
    released. /APA/
