OSCE MG AMERICAN CO-CHAIRMAN: ONE CANNOT BE A SUCCESSFUL MEDIATOR NOT BEING ACQUAINTED WITH POSITIONS OF KARABAKH CONFLICT PARTIES

with the ideas and positions of the parties' leaders". As ArmInfo
correspondent in Stepanakert reports, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairman
Matthew Bryza said after the meeting with the NKR President. M. Bryza
visited the NKR on January 15, within the frames of a OSCE MG
co-chairmen's regional visit.
Asked by journalists about the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's
ruling out NKR's self-determination in his New Year congratulation,
which practically makes reaching any agreements impossible, the
American mediator said they knew this position of Azerbaijan long
ago. All of them know about it, he said and added that, however,
their task is to find a compromise between the principles during
the negotiations. Matthew Bryza spoke for the necessity to support
the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in the
matter of keeping and strengthening the ceasefire regime in the zone
of Karabakh-Azerbaijan conflict.
