    GEGHAMIAN'S TEAM IS INSULTED

"Leader of the National Unity Party (AMK) Artashes Geghamian is
determined to win the presidential elections. He runs for presidency
with distinct programmes and ideas," head of Geghamian's pre-election
    headquarters Alexan Karapetian announced today.

Alexan Karapetian states that Geghamian enjoys the confidence of a
stable electorate. "People are deluded into false hopes by meaningless
promises during the election race. I highly assessed Geghamian's
chances to win the elections. If our people want to lead a dignified
life they should vote for Geghamian."

The AMK Deputy Chairman stated that in case Geghamian didn't appear
in the second phase they would second the candidate endorsing their
    programme.

The AMK has encountered no hardships at the preparatory stage. The
party has set up 53 coordinating offices-41 in marzes and 12 in
    the capital.

Alexan Karapetian quoted an article by Geghamian to introduce the
latter's political goals. "If I win the elections I shall do my best
to restore lawfulness and order in the country."

In reply to journalsts' questions why Artashes Geghamian is
against Levon Ter-Petrossian, Alexan Karapetian said, "If you
conduct time-study you will see when we began to "backfire" on Levon
Ter-Petrossian. We were insulted by the first President's announcement
that all forces avoiding alliance with him are Armenia's foes. Why
should we have joined him? We don't think that Levon Ter-Petrossian
is an ideal candidate capable of leading the country on the right path.
