BERNARD FASSIER: 2008 WILL BE DECISIVE YEAR FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF NAGORNO KARABAKH CONFLICT

OSCE MG French Co-chair Bernard Fassier mentioned that proposals of
Co-chairs on Karabakh conflict settlement presented to the conflict
sides in Madrid "are positive for both sides".
At the same time he mentioned that no side can receive everything
it wants. Russian co-chair Yuri Merzlyakov stated that the work on
coordinating core principles of the conflict regulation continues."If
core principles are coordinated, agreement project will be prepared.
Separate paragraphs on the principles will be reflected in the
project. It was not possible to achieve mutual agreement and to find
satisfied version fro both sides yet. We will continue our activity
on this field. 2008 should be decisive year for the settlement of
Nagorno Karabakh conflict," he said.
