ANKARA, JANUARY 17, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The murder of the
editor-in-chief of "Agos" weekly newspaper Hrant Dink increased the
number of unsloved political crimes in Turkey. The deputy of the
pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party (DTP) Akin Birdal made this
statement at Turkey's Great National Assembly.
"It was an obviously committed crime that was not prevented. There
have been many political murders which, unfortunately, have not
been disclosed. The murder of Hrant has increased the number of such
crimes," Birdal stated.
Speaking about Article 301 of the Criminal Code of Turkey and reminding
the state minister Cemil Cicek's words that Article 301 is no pain
of anybody, A. Birdal said: Article 301 is business of us. It is an
atricle that disturbs peaceful lifestyle".
