President Ilham Aliyev visited to the frontline regions.
President Ilham Aliyev visited the frontline regions today. President
has attended the opening ceremony of Heydar Aliyev Museum and
Olympic Sport Complex in Guzanly village of Agdam region this
morning. President met with local residents of the settlement and
addressed the public.
During his speech President stated that Guzanly became a centre of
the region and received status of settlement as a large part of Agdam
were under occupation. "Armenian vandals destructed a big part of the
region. This was also confirmed by the OSCE Fact-Finding Mission. We
will ensure our territorial integrity. I don't doubt it. 86 thousand
people are currently living in this region", said I. Aliyev.
President spoke about elimination of camp settlements. He stated
that he gave appropriate instructions in order to improve the
conditions of internally displaced people (IDPs). "The money at
the amount of $500 million was allocated for building new towns and
settlements. All these measures are of temporary character. A big
amount of works will be implemented after release of the occupied
territories. We shall construct bigger towns and settlements. We are
stronger than Armenia. Our economy is 5-6 times stronger than that
of Armenia. If Armenians demanded independence for Daqliq Qarabaq
a few years ago, they are now acknowledging that we will not agree
with that. Previously the discussed was the release of only 4 occupied
regions around Qarabaq, while the return all the 7 regions is a subject
of discussions. Time is working on us and I want the future peaceful
agreement to fully correspond to our interests. We can only speak
about high autonomy status for Daqliq Qarabaq. If it doesn't happen,
Azerbaijan will free the occupied territories by any means as well
as by means of war".
