VENICE COMMISSION READY TO PROVIDE LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO THE KARABAKH SETTLEMENT PROCESS

The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe is ready to provide
legal support to the Karabakh conflict settlement process, Mediamax
reports.
Secretary of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio said: "We
are ready to give legal recommendations that will help resolve the
issue. However, for that we need to have the political consent of
the conflicting parties."
Mr. Buquicchio noted that the OSCE Minsk Group can apply to the
Venice Commission for getting legal advice. "It would be sounder,
since it has been long involved in the resolution of that conflict,"
the Secretary noted.
