RPA Spokesman: `Armenia should have an invulnerable President, from the
point of view of his legitimate status'

    January 18, 2008

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Holding legitimate and democratic presidential
elections on February 19 is `the most important task' for the ruling
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Spokesman of RPA Eduard Sharmazanov
    stated in Yerevan today.

Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan today,
Sharmazanov stated that the RPA has the political will for holding such
    elections.

`Democracy in Armenia does not have an alternative, and we should have
an invulnerable President from the point of view of his legitimate
    status', the RPA Spokesman stated.

According to Sharmazanov, Serzh Sarkisian has the perquisites for
victory in the very first round of the presidential elections with
    obvious superiority of gained votes.
