The U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama pledged to recognize
the Armenian genocide if he is elected president.
"Obama made a statement urging the U.S. Congress to pass Resolution
106 on the recognition of the genocide of Armenians in the Ottoman
Empire at the beginning of the past century," runs the release of
the Armenian National Committee of America.
