PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN KICKS OFF IN ARMENIA

The presidential election campaign began in Armenia on Monday, sources
at the headquarters of presidential candidates told Interfax.They
said the campaign would include meetings with voters.
The campaign will be over on February 17. There must be no canvassing
on the day before the election, due on February 19.
Prime Minister and Republican Party Chairman Serzh Sargsyan,
Parliament Vice-Speaker and Dashnaktsutyun bureau member Vaan
Ovannisian, Orinats Yerkir leader Artur Bagdasarian, National Unity
leader Artashes Gegamian, People's Party leader Tigran Karapetian,
National Accord leader Aram Arutyunian, former premier and leader
of the opposition National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukian, former
Karabakh presidential adviser Arman Melikian and Armenia's first
president Levon Ter-Petrosian are the candidates.
