PRESIDENT KOCHARYAN RECEIVED THE CHAIRMAN OF RUSSIAN STATE DUMA

President Robert Kocharyan today received the delegation headed by
the President of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov.
The President congratulated Boris Gryzlov on the occasion of the
victory of the Party headed by him in the parliamentary elections in
Russian in December 2007.
The parties attached importance to the agreement signed between the
"United Russia" and the Republican Party and Prosperous Armenia
Party, which makes the inter-party cooperation more businesslike
and coordinated.
Speaking about the development of Armenian-Russian cooperation,
President Kocharyan noted that bilateral economic relations have
become the driving force of the Armenian-Russian cooperation, as a
result of which the Russian capital has become involved in various
spheres of Armenia's economy. He particularly stressed the dynamically
developing cooperation in the fields of energy and transport.
Mr. Gryzlov noted that according to different predictions, the
commodity turnover between the two countries will reach $1 billion
in 2008.
During the meeting the parties dwelt on the cooperation between
the parliamentarians of the two countries within international
organizations.
