/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The UN Security Council held close-door consultations
on the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict.
Ambassador Jean Arnault, the head of UN mission in Georgia presented
the latest report on Abkhazia issued by Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.
"There were no armed collisions in the conflict zone lately. However,
misinformation engendering hostility and fears was being
circulated... The Georgian-Abkhazia political process reached a
deadlock," the report says.
Mr Ban said the UN Secretariat with assistance of a friendship group
could "assess the peaceful process in Abkhazia."
