Though 20 days are left to presidential elections, it is too difficult
to make forecasts on this issue.
The due statement was made by famous Armenian political scientist
Armenak Ovanisyan in his interview to Day.Az, commenting on the
pre-election situation in Armenia.
"Levon Ter-Petrosyan's appearance stirred everything up. Almost a
half year ago all analysis both in Armenia and outside the country,
were confident that representative of the ruling party Serj Sarkisyan
will win the elections in Armenia"
He said few people now believe that the working Prime Minister of
the country will be the next president of Armenia.
"The candidate from the ruling party has now a serious and pragmatic
opponent in the person of the ex-president of Armenia".
He noted that orange revolution is Armenia is highly unlikely.
Asked whose candidacy is more suitable for presidential elections,
he noted that Levon Ter Petrosyan's candidacy is more favorable both
for the soonest resolution of the conflict and for the regulation of
the Armenian-Turkish relations.
