RA AND NKR CONTROL CHAMBERS CONCLUDED COOPERATION AGREEMENT

A cooperation agreement was concluded between RA and NKR Control
Chambers in Stepanakert on July 10. The document was signed by
I. Zakharian, head of RA Control Chamber, and A. Mosian, head of NKR
Control Chamber.
According to DE FACTO own correspondent in Stepanakert, in the
course of a joint press conference A. Mosian, head of NKR Control
Chamber, noted that the issues referring to joint activity had been
discussed in the course of a meeting with the delegation of RA Control
Chamber. Answering journalists' questions concerning agreement's
content and joint plans, I. Zakharian noted, "Due to the agreement
the work will be subject. Several directions have been included in
the document. The first one is joint check-ups over certain issues,
the second one - rendering methodic assistance (of expert and technical
nature) to Karabakh colleagues".
Underscoring the role of the Control Chamber in the struggle against
corruption in the country, I. Zakharian said, "we should not be
considered a punitive organ. Specific proposals will be presented to
correct shortcomings and omissions; in case reasonable approach is
applied to problems, corruption risks, which are evil for any state,
will be reduced year after year".
During the press conference the head of NKR Control Chamber A. Mosian
said that check-ups in the sphere of NKR health care had been
finished. "A report will be made in the course of the coming 1-2
weeks. After the NKR Control Chamber Council approves the report the
work's results will be presented to appropriate organs and public",
A. Mosian noted. He also added that verifications had been planned
in the sphere of agriculture and urban development. "Currently,
according to the NKR Control Chamber's program, checking is being
held in regional administrations of Martuni and Askeran and Shoushi
region's communities", head of NKR Control Chamber said.
