    ARMENIA'S HAYPOST TO ATTEND CONGRESS OF UNIVERSAL POSTAL UNION IN GENEVA

    A delegation of the Republic of Armenia headed by Hans Boon, Director
    General of HayPost CJSC, is to participate in the 24-th UPU Congress
    which will take place from 23 July to 13 August at the International
    Congress Centre in Geneva /ICCG/. More than 1,500 delegates are
    expected to attend the Congress. The delegation is officially headed
    by RA Minister of Transport and Communications Gurgen Sargsyan.

    Republic of Armenia has put forward its candidacy for re-election
    to the Council of Administrations /CA/ - one of the UPU's permanent
    bodies. Due to high performance and significant results achieved in
    the postal reform modernization process, Armenia has already received
    a number of official letters from leading Postal Administrations
    including from Russia, USA, Greece, Portugal, Bulgaria etc. which
    endorse Armenia's candidacy.

    In its effort to attain a higher level of quality services, and also
    as part of its transformation program, Haypost CJSC attaches great
    importance to its role in the international postal industry. For this
    purpose, Haypost CJSC is keen in establishing and maintaining strong
    business partnerships with international companies.

    The participants will discuss the urgent problems of the sector with a
    special focus on the development of a world postal strategy to serve as
    "road map" for=2 0UPU members in the coming years.

    Universal Postal Union was founded in 1874. It comprises 196 countries
    now.

    The goal of this interstate organization is to ensure and improve
    postal communication on the territory covered by the Union.

    HayPost CJSC is the national postal operator of the Republic of Armenia
    operating through its 900 post offices and 41 regional departments
    throughout the country. Under an agreement signed on November 30,
    2006, HayPost was transferred in trust of the Dutch HayPost Trust
