The Philadelphia Museum of Art will organize a retrospective devoted
to the world-famous American-Armenian artist Arshile Gorky in October,
2009. The exhibition will present around 180 paintings, reflecting
the full scope of the artist's prolific career. Drawn from public
and private collections throughout the United States and Europe,
the retrospective will reveal the evolution of Gorky's unique visual
vocabulary and mature painting style.
Being on view until December 2009, it will travel from Philadelphia
to London and Los Angeles.
