Not heavy industry but high-end technologies are the future of the
Armenian economy, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisyan told
    journalists today.

He also added that creation and functioning of big industrial
facilities requires great time and money resources which the state
does not have and private sector does not want to risk. 'One should
not forget that we are living in the conditions of the market economy
and our production does not immediately find its customer. This
requires extra investment risks which not every businessman wants
to have. Finally, electric power and fuel tariffs which are growing
constantly, and which should be spend to ship raw materials, will
make our production non-competitive', - Armenian premier said. He
also added that the quality the designed industrial technologies has
become the main moving force of the economy of the developed states.

'For this reason Europe and the USA give China and India the role
of the world leaders in the sphere of production, transferring
the factories of their companies to these countries. They do it
purposefully since they can get cheap labor force there. And in
this context Armenia will hardly successfully compete with china',
    - he said.

Tigran Sarkisyan also said that higher technologies will be able
to become the resource which will be able to turn Armenia into a
competitive state at the world market.
