All-Armenian Catholicos accuses Sheikh-ul-Islam of Caucasus of
"bellicose statements"

"Decrease of tensions in Armenia is expected by everyone", said
All-Armenia Catholicos Garegin the Second at the meeting with PACE
chairman Luis Maria de Puig, according to the press chancellery of the
Saint Echmiadzin.
"Both representatives of powers and opposition are progenies of the
Armenian church and the Armenian church is concerned with the destiny
of each Armenian", said the Catholicos.
In turn, de Puig stressed special importance of the role of Armenian
Catholicos in creation of the reconciliation atmosphere within the
society.
Garegin the Second voiced concern about the "bellicose statements" in
Azerbaijan, which have recently become frequent by the side of the
religious leader of Azerbaijan as well.
The All-Armenian Catholicos informed the visitor about "the barbarian
actions" against Armenian religious and cultural monuments in
Azerbaijan, particularly stressing the alleged termination of
khachkars in the territory of the ancient Armenian cemetery in Julfa
(Old Juga).
