Armenian government decides to enlarge outflow from lake Sevan to 197
million cubic meters
YEREVAN, July 25. /ARKA/. On Thursday, Armenian Government decided to
enlarge the outflow from Lake Sevan intended for irrigation from
present 170 million to 197 million cubic meters.
At its previous meeting held a week earlier, the Government decided to
enlarge the outflow from 150 million to 170 million cubic meters.
Andranik Andreasyan, chairman of State Water Committee, said then that
natural outflows from Harzdan River dwindled recently while water
consumers' demand grew. That is why the Government decided to increase
the outflow.
He said that 240 million cubic meters will be taken from Sevan
throughout this irrigation season.
He also said that the volumes of let-out water were 108.65 million as
