The final demonstrative Georgian-American trainings 'Deserved response
-2008' was held in the military base Vaziani, near Georgia on 28 July.
Totally 1,600 military personnel (1,000 from America and 600 from
Georgia) and ten officers from Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Armenia
participated in the training.
According to Zaza Gogov, the Chief of the United Staff of the Georgian
Military Forces, the trainings were succeeded. "These trainings
demonstrated the importance of coordinating actions. All these measures
are taken to provide security in the region," Gogov said.
Giorgiy Baramidze, the State Minister on Euro Integration Issues,
emphasized the significance of military cooperation between Georgia and
the United States. "Participation of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Ukraine
representatives in trainings will enable to strengthen stability in
the East Europe," Baramidze said.
Jon Teffet, the United States Ambassador in Georgia, participated in
trainings as well.
Trainings 'Worthy respond - 2008' will be completed on 31 July.
