GAZPROM TO HIKE GAS PRICE FOR ARMENIA

RBC, 30.07.2008, Yerevan 14:55:58.Gazprom plans to increase the price
of natural gas supplied to Armenia to $165 per 1,000 cubic meters
in 2009, the country's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen
Movsisian told journalists today. Armenia and Russia plan to sign
an agreement stipulating a new gas price for the next three years,
the ARKA news agency reported. At the same time, Movsisian noted that
the parties were still in talks and that the purchasing price had
yet to be determined. He reiterated that, according to an agreement
with Gazprom valid until December 31, Armenia was to buy Russian gas
at $110 per 1,000 cubic meters.
