MORE PEOPLE JOIN HUNGER-STRIKERS
[07:42 pm] 30 May, 2008
Nine more people, among them member of the
Hanrapetutiun (Republic) Party Lyova Eghazarian,
joined the hunger-strikers in Yereblur on May 30.
They demand that the political prisoners be released
and the terms of PACE Resolution 1609 be fulfilled.
Today the hunger strikers were visited by a -Red
Cross- representative. Despite the poor health state
the strikers are glad to be near the tombs of their
fallen friends.
The leader of the Hanrapetutiun Party, Aram
Sarkissian, and representative of the Pan-Armenian
National Movement, Manushak Petrossian, laid flowers
on the tomb of Vazgen Sarkissian.
The hunger-strikers have appealed to all Yerkrapah
Volunteers to join their struggle and relieve the
country of the burden of illegal authorities. -The
country's independence gained by the self-sacrifice of
our companions-in-arms is jeopardized,- they say.
Asked whether any official had visited them Lyova
Eghazarian said, -We don't endorse Armenia's
authorities. We have no officials.-
Note, Armenian MP Samvel Alexanian /Lfik Samo/ visited
Yerablur today. He stood for some minutes near the
hunger-strikers, talked to someone and left without
inquiring of the strikers' state.
