CANNES, MAY 30, ARMENIANS TODAY - NOYAN TAPAN. Canadian-Armenian
writer-director Atom Egoyan won big at the Cannes Film Festival. Atom
Egoyan, who was born in Cairo, scooped the prestigious Ecumenical Jury
prize for his movie Adoration. "I'm so overwhelmed by this prize," said
the delighted director. "It puts the film into context."
Atom Egoyan was awarded the same honour in 1997 for drama flick "The
Sweet Hereafter."
