    RA FOREIGN MINISTER HIGHLY EVALUATES ACTIVITY OF UNION OF ARMENIANS IN RUSSIA FOR SAKE OF ARMENIA

    MOSCOW, JUNE 2, NOYAN TAPAN. Within the framework of RA Foreign
    Minister Edward Nalbandian's visit to Moscow, on May 31, he met
    with Ruben Vardanian, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
    Troika Dialogue Russian consortium, the Co-chairman of the Armenia
    2020 initiative. Prospects of Armenia's economic development were
    discussed during the meeting. The further programs of the Armenia
    2020 initiative were touched upon separately.

    According to the report provided to Noyan Tapan by the RA Foreign
    Ministry Press and Information Department, E. Nalbandian also met with
    Ara Abrahamian, the Chairman of the Union of Armenians in Russia,
    and the leading staff of the Union. The RA Foreign Minister highly
    evaluated the programs implemented by the Union of Armenians in Russia
    and wished the Union success in its further activity done for the
    sake of Armenia.

    E. Nalbandian reaffirmed RA authorities' resolution to make
    Armenia-Diaspora contacts more active and efficient. The Minister said
    that after approval of the Regulations of Diaspora's Committee by the
    RA government in the Foreign Ministry's staff the work on structure's
    formation has already started.

    The RA Foreign Minister also visited the Armenia pavilion in the
    territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center, where he got acquainted
    with goods exported from Armenia to Russia. E. Nalbandian discussed
    possibilities of further expansion of implementation of joint programs
    with the Exhibition Center's management.
