ARMENIA AND INDIA INTERESTED IN DEEPENING COOPERATION

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received the Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Rina Ponsley.
Noting that the Armenian-Indian relations and friendly ties have
deep historical roots and good traditions, the parties underlined
that these should now be reinforced through searching for new spheres
of cooperation.
In this context, the interlocutors attached importance to the
continuation of the mutual visits of high-level delegations. Tigran
Sargsyan highly appreciated the cooperation between the two countries
on the international arena, India's assistance to Armenia within the
framework of the UN.
>From the perspective of deepening of ties between the two countries
and expansion of cooperation, the interlocutors underlined the
importance of the activity of the Armenian-Indian Intergovernmental
Cooperation Commission, the recurrent sitting of which is planned to
be held in Yerevan at the end of the year. Among the priority fields
of cooperation, the parties pointed to information technologies,
healthcare, tourism, jewelry, science, education and culture.
During the meeting the Armenian Prime Minister and the Indian
Ambassador turned to issues of organization of an Armenian-Indian
business forum in Deli, which will, most probably, take place in
autumn of the current year.
Attaching importance to the development of business ties between
Armenia and India, Tigran Sargsyan expressed the willingness of the
Armenian Government to maximally support the program.
The parties attached importance to the deepening of cooperation between
the two capitals - Yerevan and Deli. They said to be appreciative of
the fact that the Mayor of Yerevan is going to visit India.
