YEREVAN, JUNE 9, NOYAN TAPAN. Jirayr Sefilian, the Commander of the
batallion of Shushi and the Coordinator of the Civil Initiative "In
defence of liberated territories", was set free from the Vardashen
penitentiary office at about 9:30 on June 9. This information
was provided to a Noyan Tapan correspondent by Arsen Babayan, the
Spokesperson of the Head of the Penitentiary Department of the RA
Ministry of Justice.
It should also be mentioned that Jirayr Sefilian, a citizen of
Lebanon, was imprisoned for one and a half year on the charge of
keeping illegal weapon.
By the end of the imprisonment term, the police applied to the RA
Administrative Court with the claim of making a decision on his
deportation, however, the court returned the application motivating
that there are faults in it. According to the data of June 6, the
police has not submitted a new application to the Administrative Court.
