The 10th session of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis ended in Cologne
(Germany) on Sunday.
Chairman of the WAC Azerbaijani representative office Ismail Aghayev
told APA that during the first day of the session, held on June 6-8,
the discussed were a number of problems of Azerbaijani diaspora,
including national rights of Iranian Azerbaijanis, bloody events of May
2006 in Iranian cities, inhabited by Azerbaijanis, Nagorno Karabakh
conflict, 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan People's Republic and
state of Azerbaijani diaspora.
The last day of the session was devoted to organizational
issues. Aghayev said several alterations were introduced to the
charter of the organization.
Thus, the co-chairmanship institute was established in the World
Azerbaijanis Congress. the Sabir Rustamkhanly and Firudin Pervizniya
were elected the co-chairs.
Moreover, the management board of the organization included 17 people
(8 people from South Azerbaijan), 1 from Turkey, 4 from the CIS states
and 5 from Azerbaijan) as well as a Consultative meeting of 50 people.
A declaration on Nagorno Karabakh conflict and rights of Azerbaijanis
in Iran was adopted at the session.
