ArmInfo. Armenian parliamentarian from Republican Party of Armenia,
Press Secretary of RPA Eduard Sharmazanov told ArmInfo he had urged
radical opposition to think of state interests.
Sharmazanov said the steps taken by President of Armenia after
the unrest in March will be positively evaluated, first of all, by
the Armenian public and than by PACE. 'Armenia is a member of CE
and we ought to be guided with the rules we adopted when joining
the organization. What we do we do to meet our interests', he
said. Sharmazanov believes it impossible to fulfill the requirements
of PACE Resolution 'On function of democratic institutions in Armenia'
within such short period of time. 'The authorities, in particular,
President Serzh Sargsyan has political will to fulfill the requirements
of the Resolution No 1609', he said. Serzh Sargsyan's presidential
program clearly stressed the necessity of a dialogue between the
opposition and the authorities and of democratic reforms yet before
the Resolution. Afterwards, the coalition treaty was signed that set
prior tasks. 'It is a wrong opinion that everything is done under
pressure of Europe after March incidents', Sharmazanov said.
