On June 12-14 the Second "Asia Society" international business
forum will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan. The conference will
feature senior officials of international and regional organizations,
and representatives of the business world. The first "Asia
Society" international forum took place in June 2005.
For the first time the Armenian delegation headed by RA Deputy Foreign
Minister Gegham Gharibjanyan will attend the forum.
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, Prime Minister
Karim Massimov, EU Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre
Morel and other officials will speak at the forum.
By bringing together business, government, and thought leaders, this
conference will provide an important forum for examining Kazakhstan's
emergence as a global economic player. Kazakhstan's rapid expansion
presents advantages as well as challenges to establishing long-term
economic prosperity and stability in the region. This conference
aims to promote a deeper understanding of the key aspects of
Kazakhstan's development and to identify future priorities and
strategies. Kazakhstan has a pivotal role to play in fostering and
strengthening partnerships with its neighboring countries and the
broader pan-Asian community. As Central Asia becomes increasingly
important, Kazakhstan is poised to become a strategic destination
for investment and a bridge for trade between Asia and the West.
