Karen Asrian Memorial tournament taking place in Yerevan finished
by the victory of Armenian GM Levon Aronian gaining 8,5 scores. The
leader of the tournament Peter Leko gained 8 scores and occupied the
second horizontal. The third and the fourth horizontals are shared
by Alexander Morozevich and Boris Gelfand who had 7,8 scores on
their accounts.
Chinese Bu Xiangzhi gained 7 cores and occupied the fifth
horizontal. Gabriel Sargsyan (6,5 scores), Michael Adams (5,5 scores)
and Vladimir Hakobyan (5 scores) follow the participants.
Note that the tournament started on June 8 in Yerevan and finished
yesterday. The total prize fund is 262 thousands dollars. The first
place occupier received 70 thousands, the second 50 thousands, the
third 40 thousands.
