SHANT PLUS AND ASHTARAK KAT RECOGNIZED AS COMPANIES WITH DOMINATING POSITION IN MARKET

YEREVAN, JUNE 18, NOYAN TAPAN. At the June 18 sitting, the RA State
Commission on Protection of Economic Competition recognized Shant
Plus and Ashtarak Kat companies as economic entities with a dominating
position in the market. By a decision taken by the Commission in 2005,
Shant Plus was also recognized as an entity with a dominating position.
By the data presented by 14 economic entities operating in the
ice cream market, 2,449,852.1 kg of ice cream was made in Armenia
in 2007. Ice cream sales amounted to 2,310,332.2 kg, exports - to
130,389 kg. The following companies had the largest shares of sales:
Shant Plus (30.73%), Ashatarak Kat (25.82%) and Tamara (21.64%).
