SELF-ARSON TRY AT GOVERNMENTAL BUILDINGS

Today farmer of the Dalma Gardens Samvel Manukian made a self-arson
attempt in front of the RA Government House. He had poured petrol on
himself and was about to light a fire when the police stopped him.
They carried Samvel Manukian into the police car to take him to the
police station but people prevented them.
~SThe President did not keep his promise. Neither did the Town
Hall. But I kept my word,~T Samvel Manukian complained.
It is noteworthy that Samvel Manukian has participated in the protest
actions organized at the Governmental Buildings every Thursday and
had often announced that he would burn himself if the problem of his
parcel of land was not solved.
He had written an open letter to Serzh Sargssian.
Together with his three brothers Samvel Manukian possesses 2900m2
of land, which they have been cultivating for 19 years but now the
Government is taking it away.
Manukian demanded adequate compensation for his parcel of land
otherwise, he said, he was not responsible for his actions.
