Export volumes almost unchanged
According to the National Statistical Service of the Republic of
Armenia, the Armenian economic growth of January-May of this year
is 9,8 percent compared with the same period of last year. It became
one-digit only after February of this year conditioned by disorders
of post-election period.
Gross domestic product was 982 billion drams.
Construction continues to record the highest growth - 14,9 percent.
Volume of industrial output recorded a little fall - 0,4 percent,
without energy - 1,4 percent.
Production of electric energy rose by 2,3 percent.
Volume of gross agricultural output increased by 1,9 percent in
January-May.
Indexes recorded in the sphere of services are the second after
construction as they increased by 10,6 percent.
Growth in retail trade turnover was 4,3 percent.
External trade turnover rose by 29,6 percent to 1 billion 982 million
dollars.
Export volumes increased by 0,2 percent to 422 million dollars.
Import rose by 40,8 percent to 1 billion 138 million dollars.
Average monthly wage in Armenia was 87 thousand drams in March, in
private sector - 109 thousand drams, in public sector - 61 thousand
drams.
Average rise in wages compared with the same period of last year was
22,9 percent.
