The latest elections in Armenia and Russia gave a new impulse to the
development of bilateral relations, Speaker of the State Duma of the
Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov said during the meeting with Armenian
    President Serzh Sargsyan.

"The parliamentary and presidential elections in our countries give
an impulse for the reinforcement of our relations, and their results
    satisfy us," Gryzlov said.

Boris Gryzlov said he appreciates the cooperation between Armenia and
Russia in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty
Organization, "where the positions of our countries always coincide,"
and hailed the constructive work of the Armenian delegation.

According to the State Duma Speaker, most of Russian regions have
direct economic ties with Armenia. "The commodity turnover between
Armenia and Russia is steadily growing, reaching about 60% yearly. A
very serious trade-economic basis has been created. The volume of
Russian investments is approaching $1.4 billion," he said.

Boris Gryzlov thanked the Armenian President for care for the Russian
language. Serzh Sargsyan responded that "many young people in Armenia
enjoy studying Russian and using it to get new knowledge, and we
    welcome it."

According to RA President, the parliamentarians of the two countries
are doing much for the reinforcement of relations between the two
countries. In particular, important agreements were signed, including
the one on excluding double taxation.

"Thousands of enterprises with participation of Russia capital operate
in Armenia, and we create best conditions for their functioning,"
    Serzh Sargsyan said.
