CROP YIELD IS UP, FIRES HAVE NOT DAMAGED CROPS YET

Already 2560 ha of arable crops have been harvested, said the minister
of agriculture Armo Tsatryan answering the question of the Member of
Parliament Oleg Grigoryan about the harvest.
According to Armo Tsatryan, this year the crop yield per hectare is
1830 kg and is up by 520 kg compared with last year.
The minister informed that mobile camps for extinguishing fires
have been set up which have necessary equipment. For this purpose 18
million drams has been allocated from the state budget.
Armo Tsatryan said so far 9 cases of ignition have been reported
which did not damage the arable crops. Only 550 ha of uncultivated
land has burnt.
However, according to the minister of defense Movses Hakobyan, 58
cases of ignition were reported. He underlined that the military
units are also involved in fire protection.
As to the purchasing price of wheat, Armo Tsatryan says an agreement
has been signed with two mills that wheat will be bought no cheaper
than for 120 drams per kg.
