Armenia is going to assume the Chairmanship-in-Office of the
Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation in November for half
a year, said the Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbanyan.

"In November Armenia will assume the Chairmanship-in-Office of the
BSEC for 6 months. This is certainly honorable for our country and
creates new responsibilities also. The Government of Armenia, Foreign
Ministry and other authorized bodies have started to get prepared to
meet the activities appropriately," said the Foreign Minister.

The Minister said that Armenia is linked with the organization having
several fields of relationship, in particular economy, transport,
agriculture, science, technologies and communication, education,
    environmental issues and tourism.

Note that BSEC was established in 1992 and it came into existence
as promising model of multilateral political and economic initiative
aimed to ensure peace, stability and prosperity encouraging friendly
and good-neighbourly relations in the Black Sea region. The members of
the organization are Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia,
Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.
