ARMENIAN OPPOSITION MP FACTION KNIFED BY PROTESTERS

An MP from the Armenian opposition Heritage faction, Armen Martirosyan,
was knifed at the entrance to the Yerevancity hall today. He was
taken to hospital No 3 in Yerevan, Armenian Public TV has reported.
Martirosyan said that demonstrators attacked the police as they tried
to enter the city hall.
He said that he was knifed as he tried to defend a police officer
from the demonstrators, Public TV said.
