    KarabakhOpen
    05-03-2008 14:35:11

In the night of March 3 the special operation force of the Azerbaijani
army crossed the line of contact in the northwest, occupied one of
the outposts of the NKR Defense Army in the direction of the village
of Levonarch, Martakert region. As a result of the operation of the
NKR armed force, after several hours of intensive fight the foe left
behind eight killed soldiers and ammunition and escaped. Two Karabakh
    soldiers are wounded.

The NKR Defense Army considers it necessary to underline that through
similar actions the Azerbaijani army tries to destabilize the situation
not only on the line of contact but also in the entire region.

Once again the NKR ministry of defense warns Azerbaijan that any
encroachment on the security of NKR will be prevented.

The NKR ministry of defense urges the Azerbaijani side to observe
the cease-fire and not to endanger peace and stability in the region.

In the meantime, the APA Azerbaijani news agency reports that four
Azerbaijani soldiers were wounded as a result of the violation of
the cease-fire: Bahruz Ismailov, Nemet Gusayev, Yussif Gasimov,
the name of the fourth killed soldier is not known yet. Besides,
two inhabitants of the village of Tapgaragoyunlu, Geranboy region
Rahman Aliyev and Miralem Heydarov were wounded.

Turkey is attentively following the developments on the line of contact
between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan and urges
Armenia to return to the international legal sphere and not to violate
the cease-fire. "The resumption of military actions in the area of the
Karabakh conflict is not helpful to the conflict sides and the entire
region, therefore Turkey urges Armenia not to violate the agreement
on cease-fire," the Turkish embassy to Baku stated, 1news.az reports.
