Three Azeri servicemen were killed and one more wounded in an exchange
of fire at the contact line between Azeri and Armenian forces on
Tuesday, the Azeri Defense Ministry said.
Armenia "suffered significant losses in a battle at the contact line
between the Azeri and Armenian armed forces, which it provoked itself;
12 of its servicemen were killed and 15 others wounded," Azeri Defense
Ministry spokesman Ilgar Verdiyev told Interfax.
The skirmish, which started on Tuesday morning, lasted until about
1:00 a.m. Wednesday, he said.
Meanwhile, local TV channels said at least four Azeri servicemen were
killed in the incident.
